HDC MidAtlantic focuses its work in the following areas:

Development Of Affordable Housing
HDC seeks to develop new sites for affordable housing throughout the MidAtlantic region through new construction, rehabilitation of older buildings and preservation of existing affordable housing.

Supportive Services
The goal of Supportive Services is to provide programs, services, and staffing to residents living in affordable housing that give an opportunity to improve and enhance their quality of life and contribute to the overall stability of the community where they reside.

Advocacy For Affordable Housing And Low Income Families
Working with government, agencies, and other groups, HDC MidAtlantic educates and advocates the need for affordable housing and the issues facing low and low- to moderate-income individuals.

Development And Training
HDC will fund specialized training for volunteers and staff who work with low-income families, seniors and people with disabilities.

Weatherization Program
The primary aim of this program is to reduce home heating costs for individuals and families least able to afford them, while increasing comfort levels in the residence. The weatherization service begins with a home energy audit that is designed to suggest energy saving measures based on “cost effectiveness guidelines.”
