Attorney Paula Munson is a partner in Nikolaus & Hohenadel and has closed dozens of affordable housing deals

 

LANCASTER – Housing Development Corporation MidAtlantic President Michael R. Carper presented the nonprofit’s top annual award, the Housing Advocate of the Year, to Lancaster attorney at HDC’s banquet May 10.

A partner with the firm Nikolaus & Hohenadel, Munson has practiced in the areas of affordable housing development and financing since 1984. She has closed more than 50 deals in affordable housing for numerous nonprofit organizations, including the Spanish American Civic Association, Presbyterian Senior Living and HDC MidAtlantic.

“As an attorney, Paula’s advocacy is vital for nonprofits since she helps us navigate the complicated world of affordable housing rules, regulations and financing,” Carper said. “She has a passion for the mission of affordable housing, and she works tirelessly with attention detail, precision and clarity necessary on projects that are complex and multi-layered.”

Through Munson’s efforts, she has helped put in place more than 2,000 affordable apartments throughout the region.

“It has been a privilege to work with clients such as HDC MidAtlantic who make such a difference in the quality of life for so many individuals our communities,” Munson said. “I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of HDC’s affordable housing team.”

Munson and her husband, Robert, reside in Manheim Township. They have two daughters and four grandchildren.

This is HDC MidAtlantic’s fourth annual Housing Advocate of the Year. The award goes to someone who has worked tirelessly on affordable housing issues in and around Central Pennsylvania. Previous winners are:
