HDC MidAtlantic Discontinuing Weatherization Services Effective August 31, 2012
Since 1976, the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) of HDC MidAtlantic has assisted thousands of needy families in Lancaster, Lebanon and Chester counties by providing free weatherization work on their homes to reduce energy costs while increasing comfort levels.
Our Weatherization Services division relies on state and federal funding for operations and we cannot provide services without it. Our contract is ending with the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act stimulus funds and we have received a dramatic decrease in federal funding from the Department of Energy administered by the Pennsylvania’s Department of Community and Economic Development for the 2012-2013 contract period.
Due to this dramatic reduction in funding, HDC MidAltantic discontinued Weatherization Services effective August 31, 2012.
Weatherization Services will now be provided for citizens of Lancaster, Lebanon and Chester counties by the following replacement agency:
